Clever Gap, an advertising and creative agency, wanted to implement a program for one of their clients based in Puerto Rico that specializes in beauty salon and spa services to optimize their client engagement and retention.


Clever Gap developed a text-messaging program using short codes that highlighted special services and helped counterbalance particularly quiet days or days with appointment cancellations.


Using short codes, bi-monthly text messages were sent out highlighting special promotions, while text messages distributed on slow days allowed salons to book same-day appointments.


Bi-monthly text promotions resulted in salons experiencing a spike in returning clients as well as
yielding high returns on their campaign investment.
